Welcome Volunteers
FIRST LEGO League is truly a volunteer driven organization. (See our list of volunteers). Volunteers make the FLL possible through their continued support and dedication to the FLL as Committee Members, Partners, Team Mentors, Coaches, Team Parents and Event Volunteers. We are grateful to the volunteers who give their time, talent and expertise to make each of the FLL events and the FIRST LEGO League National Championship in Portugal such huge successes.

"Sou apaixonado por ensino de engenharia, por isso aproveito todas as oportunidades que tenho para ajudar. A minha recordação mais vincada de 2008 é de um e-mail que recebi de uma moça que, na altura, passou só metade de uma temporada na equipa de estudantes de robótica da qual eu era mentor:
'Não tinha muita motivação para continuar a estudar, mas a robótica fez-me sentir que eu podia fazer algo de útil e produtivo e ir além dos limites da escola e fazer algo melhor. Pela primeira vez, senti que podia mudar as coisas para melhor.'

Team Volunteers

FIRST LEGO League engages thousands of adult Team Mentors and Coaches volunteering with young people ages 9-16 years old. Team Mentors and Coaches work side-by-side with our FIRST LEGO League teams to build self-confidence, knowledge and life skills while motivating young people to pursue opportunities in science, technology and engineering. They have a variety of backgrounds, but all share in the FIRST commitment to inspiring in young people, their schools, and communities, an appreciation of science and technology, and how mastering these can enrich the lives of all. The time needed for a Team Mentor or Coach will vary but generally these positions would require a 6-month commitment to team support.
FLL Program Volunteers
Volunteer for one of the operational committees. FIRST LEGO League Operational Committees are vital tools for the organization and maintenance of the FLL Program.
FLL Operational Committee: The FLL Planning Committee works to run the FLL program all year and also assists with running the Championship tournament. Each member is responsible for a different piece of the FLL puzzle and maintains communication between planning meetings. FLL Tournament Committee: The Tournament Committee assists with management of all tournament design and implementation. The FLL Partner (Evoluir21) oversees all Tournament Committee decisions and the Event Manager ensures that they are implemented before and during the tournament. FLL Regional Operational Partner: The FLL Operational Partner for Portugal is looking for regional partners to help us recruit teams and organize local tournaments. Being an Regional Operational Partner is an exclusive relationship that grants special rights, privileges and responsibilities. Help us Translate: The FLL is an international program and most of the information comes in English. Translation is a huge task. Please volunteer to translate text from the website or from the yearly guides buy emailing Noah J Revoy at fll@evoluir21.org.
Volunteer for a FLL Tournament: Each FLL Tournament needs Judges, Referees, and other specialist volunteers. Volunteering for an FLL Tournament is fun, exciting and requires very little time. Most volunteers need to participate for only one day. (Click here to see tournament volunteer opportunities and how you can participate.)
Become and FLL Ambassador: FLL Ambassadors advocate for the FLL in their company or community. To be an FLL Ambassador is a very special opportunity that includes special perks. The FLL Operational Committee chooses FLL Ambassadors from among our best volunteers. (See our list of FLL Ambassadors).
